To reduce the high amount of traffic jams and harmful air pollution the Madrid Calle 30 Tunnel was realized and furnished with our Aigner ECCO system. After the installation part and several operating tests our system now goes into operation. An important project for the citizens of Madrid is now near completion!
Together with our Spanish partner “Zitron” we have delivered nine ECCO filtration plants for the Madrid M-30 project. The system reduces the emission of particulate matter (diesel soot) with high efficiency. In the By-Pass Sur, the section with the highest traffic volume, our ECCONOxCat is installed in addition to the ECCO system to also reduce the harmful nitrogen dioxide (NO2).
The whole project is a great example for the successful application of city tunnels and possibilities to protect people and environment from air pollution. Altogether it was an absolutely successful job and collaboration for all parties!
